Back in the mid-1800s, many Irish families fled the conditions in Ireland, namely the Great Potato Famine. In fact, most of the immigrants coming into the United States at that time came from Ireland. The majority settled in New York City and Boston. Fast forward 200 years and you’ll see that these cities are still a popular initial destination for those coming from Ireland. At least, that was the case when our owner, Anthony, first arrived.
In Boston, Anthony met his wife, and together they decided to move to a place that was not as heavily populated or had such a high cost of living. Wilmington, North Carolina ended up being the place that drew their attention in 2007 and where they ultimately decided to put down roots and then opened Maguire Electric in 2012.
Over the years, we have grown our electrical company to include not just Anthony as our licensed electrician, but 3 other electricians with 4 service trucks serving the community. By growing little by little, we’ve had the pleasure of keeping the personal touch with customers that is so often lacking in this industry. We go above and beyond, while keeping close attention to what our customers need.
